[19.04.2006] Viasat extends Ice Hockey World Championship rights

Viasat Broadcasting has tightened its hold on the live broadcasting rights to the IIHF World Championships until 2011. The ice hockey world championships will be carried on Viasats free and pay channels in Scandinavia and the Baltic region including TV3 and TV3+. Viasat already held the rights to the championship until 2007. The new contract also includes new media distribution platforms; the Internet, IPRV and mobile telephony including UMTS and DVB-H.
